The process of assuring that the system is operational and then allowing user to take over its operations for the use and evaluation is called implementation. In this phase it is discussed, how to implement the system? Also performance of the system is accessed and evaluated. Suggestions are also given to remove the drawbacks and improve the performance of the system.

When the software is developed then it is ready to implement. From the system point of view, the successful implementation of the new system is crucial. Implementation simply means converting a new system into operation. This involves creating compatible files, training the operating staff and installing the hardware.

There are several conversion options available that will reduce the risk of mishap in the new system. There are five conversion methods for implementation.

Direct Conversion is the method of conversion manual system is entirely replaced by the new system. Then the presently working system is abandoned and the new system becomes complete operational on the real data.

Parallel Conversion allows us to compare both the old and the new system. Both systems run simultaneously, and merits and demerits of both are observed.

Pilot Conversion asks the new system to be partially implemented, until it can be determined that the new system can works correctly.

Modular Prototype Conversion is the approach of conversion which uses the building of modular, operational prototypes to change from old system to new in a gradual manner.

Distributed Conversion refers to a situation in which many installations of the same system are contemplated, as is the case in banking.
