Insomnia can be defined as inability of a person to get a good sleep. Insomnia can be for a day two days or it might be for a long time period. Insomnia can affect all people at some stage of their lives. Different people need different amount of sleep depending on their body requirement. That’s why Insomnia is not defined as how much sleeps one get, but how good sleep one get. Symptoms of Insomnia include difficulty in falling asleep even if one is feeling tired. Using of different sleeping pills to fall asleep. Waking up frequently at night. Waking up too early without feeling fresh. Symptoms of Insomnia patient during a day might be drowsiness, fatigue, difficulty in concentration etc. Causes of Insomnia can be divided into three groups.
1) Psychological Causes
2) Physical Causes
3) Temporary Causes
Psychological causes
Insomnia that is caused due to Psychological reasons is called Psychological Insomnia. Psychological causes of insomnia includes anxiety when one have the feelings of tensions, helplessness, fear and un certainity.If a person is having stress it can also affect their sleep. Feelings of discouragement, sadness and despair can also affect one sleep.
Physical Causes
Insomnia that is caused due to the Physical reasons is called Physical Insomnia. Physical causes of Insomnia include hormonal changes in woman. Decrease in level of melatonin level. Melatonin is basically a hormone that controls the sleep. The level of these hormones in body decreases with age. Pain that is caused due to some injuries can also disturb ones sleep. Heartburn that are caused due to the backup of the stomach contents into esophagus.
Temporary Causes
Insomnia is not always caused by the Psychological reason or physical reason there are some teprory reason for Insomniac, Temporary insomnia is very common. Temporary Insomnia is caused due to temporary change in life, or temporary events like illness or lost of loved ones. A change in shift of work can also affect sleep of a person. Intake of too much of alcohol or coffee disturbs sleep for temporary time period. Noise extreme temperature or change in environment can also caused temporary Insomnia.
