To wean kittens away from their mother’s milk, add the beaten yolk of an egg to some milk or a few spoonfuls of broth which is not too salty, and some honey or sugar. Another method is to use boiled rice and put it in the kitten’s milk or broth with some grated cheese. Minced raw beef, liver or boiled fish can be given later on. By the time that it is one month old the kitten should be able to eat any food suitable for the cat family. It should be fed three times a day up to two months of age, then twice a day to four months, then once a day.
