There is a hard thing that surrounds the pulp and root canals of the teeth. This hard material is called Dentin. Dentin is usually covered by the enamel. Enamel of the teeth can chip or crack due to dental disorder. Due to this the dentin gets exposed. And with time its color changes. The yellow stains on the teeth’s are due to the exposure of the dentin. Teeth can have two types of stains.

1) Extrinsic stain
2) Intrinsic stain

Extrinsic Stain
Extrinsic stains appear on the surface of the teeth. These stains are formed due to exposure to the dark colored beverages, food and tobacco resulting in yellow teeth. If extrinsic stains are superficial, it can be removed by brushing and prophylactic dental cleaning. If extrinsic stains are stubborn then it requires more effort to be cleaned. If extrinsic stains are not removed on time they will get into the dentin and become deep rooted.

Intrinsic Stain
Intrinsic stains are formed interior of the teeth. These stains are formed because of trauma, aging, and exposure to minerals like tetracycline. These stains were thought to be resistant to removal. But now days the discovery of the new and improved teeth whitening methods has made it possible.

There are some home remedies which can help one to get rid of the yellow stains. Baking soda is very good for teeth whitening. One has to make a paste of baking soda with water. And brush teeth’s regularly with it. It helps a lot in removing the yellow stains. To avoid yellow stains one should brush tehe teeth regularly after every meal. Use of antiseptic mouthwash is also very good for dental health. Rubbing the teeth with yellow stains with back side of the orange peal will also help a lot. These all are time taking but useful way to get rid of yellow stains on teeth. Some dentists used hydrogen peroxide for the removal of the yellow stains. Beside that there are carabamide peroxide teeth whitening kits. These kits contain whitening trays, paint on applicators or whitening strips for the removal of yellow stains.
