on Aug 3, 2009It provides scalability by acquiring technical cooperation between service providers. Use of inter networking layer ,also helps the internet in scalability. Internet mostly uses, TCP/IP which is widely used (and we can say the only one which provides global connectivity), which is freely available and independent of any hardware. As , it is clear that end to end functions can be well performed at the end systems ,and internet uses this technique so adding systems to any network is easy and hence provision of scalability from internet. Technology required for internet can be produced in any country ,so internet deployment does not depend on technology of any specific country or region ,so its an important factor in scalability In internet, while restricting in sending and tolerant in receiving, makes it possible to be reliable, Another important issue while providing reliability is to avoid unnecessary packets that may be multicasts and broadcasts. Avoiding circular dependencies also causes reliability in internet which in turn increases throughput and received data rate. Using same expressions and memo also provide reliability. In internet, use of single naming structure also provides reliability/ease. As we know ,upper layer protocols must identify end points unmistakably ,and this is done in internet ,so it also cause reliability. As ,in internet it is required that all design should be fitted in IP security mechanism ,and so much dependence is not made on carriers or network ,so in this way it will not only be providing security even reliability also. By making use of efficient algorithms reliability and security is achieved. To confirm reliability and security ,algorithms must be able to communicate efficiently with their counter part ,and this is done in internet. |
