This job is easy enough to do for an amateur. The adjustment will be more precise if done by a mechanic as they have specialist tools, but a DIY effort is perfectly safe.

Step by step guide:

  1. When you park your car, make sure it's on even ground, in front of a wall or garage door.

  2. Make sure the car is close to the wall/garage door.

  3. Turn the lights on, then use masking tape to mark the level of the headlights on the wall.

  4. The adjusting screws are normally next to the headlight, using a screwdriver you can adjust the level of the headlights. The masking tape should help you to get them straight.

  5. Remember to tilt the beams slightly downward so that you don't blind oncoming drivers
