on Mar 14, 2009Here's a guide: Step 1: Use organic sprays to control insects. Spray Cornmeal Juice mixed with compost tea. It controls soil borne diseases. Dry garlic can also be used occasionally. Step 2: Mix molasses, apple cider vinegar and liquid seaweed with a gallon of water in equal quantities. This mixture is called as Garrett juice. You will find that it works wonders for your plants. Step 3: If the above does not work, try spraying the plants with garlic tea. Garlic and pepper tea is a good deterrent for insects. Step 4: If you want to go organic, then you can add an ounce of orange oil to keep insects at bay. Step 5: Two measures of citrus oil to a gallon of Garrett juice will keep insects at bay. Step 5: Compost can be prepared at home or can be purchased. It is nature’s own fertilizer and controls pests. It can be prepared at any time of the year. Here are the ingredients: grass cuttings, bark, food scraps, sawdust, weeds and animal manure. Mix the ingredients together. Simply pile the material on the ground. The best proportion is 80% vegetable matter and 20% animal waste. Tips and warnings |
