Different views about how long you can safely freeze things are there. In my opinion, you can freeze meat for up to 6 months.

I usually wrap the meat in platic or aluminium foil and then put it in the lowest part of the freezer. Then after every couple of months I rotate the packs so that the most frozen come in the middle and the middle ones go to the edges of the freezer where they get direct exposure to cold. Just make sure that you keep them wrapped and the water doesn't ooze out of the wrapping otherwise your freezer will smell.

I hope its clear.
